Why use a price comparison website?

There are many reasons why people use Price Comparison websites and if travelling with young families it can have many benefits as shown below:

Saving Money

The advantage of using a price comparison website is that they will do the work for you by searching many websites to find the best available deal for you. Over 10 million people use price comparison websites in the UK and they do so as it not only saves time but will also save you money.

Wider Variety of Choice

Price comparison websites search many websites to find the best deals available and potentially search many websites that you may never have heard of. This enables you to ensure that you are choosing the best available deal on the market for you.

Time Efficient

There is no doubt that using a price comparison website can save you an awful lot of time and a fair amount of effort. If you have a young family it can be quite time-consuming to trawl through many websites looking for the best available deal.

At Omio they search over 800 websites in a matter of seconds to bring the best available journey for you and your family whether you travel by train, buses or plane.

Comparing flights

What do Omio specialise in?

Omio specialise in travel by train, bus and planes. They cover all the major domestic companies such as Virgin Trains, SNCF, DB, National Express, Easy Jet and Ryanair plus many more.

At Omio they boast that they have over 27 million monthly users and can find you the most convenient route to nearly anywhere in Europe covering over 100,000 destinations. You also have the option to research your travel itinerary in several languages so no matter where you originate from you should be able to comfortably use the Omio website.

One of the advantages you have with planning your trip with Omio is that you can compare different modes of transport as the same time. For example if you choose a search from London to Paris you will simultaneously be able to view a route and price for travel by bus, train and plane.

From here you will be able to compare price, travel times and duration of journey. Another unique selling point of Omio is that a map will be displayed on the right-hand side of your screen which enables you to visualise your journey. This is also a handy addition as it makes you aware of potential places of interest you could potentially go via on your journey or alternative destinations to travel to locally your destination which maybe cheaper in price.

When researching a potential journey with Omio it is also possible to compare prices in up to 12 different currencies therefore no matter where you reside you should be able to complete a transaction in a currency which is familiar to you.

In addition to the above if you are yet to book your accommodation for your trip then there is also an option to compare prices of hotels through booking.com as you carry out your research which again allows you the potential option to plan your whole trip through just one search.

Can I trust Omio?

Omio is supported by more than 300 well-known investment partners including Goldman Sachs and Atomico who have assisted in enhancing their reputation in recent years.

If you book through Omio, they also take pride in offering a personalised service for example if you are wishing to travel with pets they will assist you in providing advice on any additional requirements for your pets to put you at ease ahead of your journey.

They also provide mobile tickets to make your journey easier and faster rather than fumbling through masses of paper work when checking in for your journey.

Many customers have been delighted with the service they have received from Omio and their comments are shown below:

Its quick and provide many options to choose.”

“Very useful website to travel around Europe. The website is user-friendly and fast.”

“I had some experiences with Omio, because I was travelling to some countries as Italy, Germany, Austria, Hungary and so on. Also, I already bought some tickets for my family’s trip for the next couple weeks, then I’m gonna travel with my girlfriend to France. I hope that it is going to be a wonderful adventure with support of Omio.”

“It was an extremely smooth process to plan my travel and also do it at a considerably reasonable price. The website and app was so efficient and responsive. I could even change my dates of travel with pleasurable ease.

Why should I use Omio above other price comparison websites?

The aim of Omio is to find the most affordable route for your journey. The unique selling point of Omio is that it allows you the opportunity to compare the prices of travelling by train, bus and plane at the same time without visiting several websites.

Therefore whether you are travelling domestically or internationally and are unsure of the best way to travel then Omio will be able to identify the cheapest price for your journey from one search.

The advantage Omio has over its competitors such as Skyscanner or Opodo is that the search options on the latter websites is largely limited and you may be required to carry out more than one search or visit alternative websites should you wish to research other travelling options.

In conclusion Omio is one of the fastest growing travel comparison websites on the market with a growing reputation and is well worth adding to your own artillery of travel comparison websites to utilise when planning your next journey.

    Hi Richard,

This is a great idea! I think the more options we have when planning a trip helps us to keep on budget.

Does GoEuro operate out of Canada?

I like the feature that you can compare different modes of transportation. Sometimes flying isn’t always the best alternative so it is good to be able to check out bus and train routes as well.

As a traveller myself, learning new currencies can be challenging so the addition of twelve available currencies is a great feature.

Thanks for sharing this valuable information.

    1. Richard Leaver says:

Thank you for your comments Mary Ann,

Sadly GoEuro do not currently operate out of Canada. However as they continue to expand, I believe it will only be a matter of time so watch this space.

I think the addition of a mode to compare different transport methods is an amazing concept and allows to view what is the cheapest mode of travel available.

GoEuro looks like an excellent option for the cash strapped at the moment, especially in countries like Africa where the exchange rate has hit an all time low.

It’s great that you can now compare prices and find the cheapest way to get around.

I am planning a trip to the US soon and I wondered if GoEuro only does Europe or other parts of the world as well. Also do they charge you anything to use their platform?

    1. Richard Leaver says:

Thank you for your comments Michel,

Currently GoEuro just covers Europe though as a fast growing company there is potential that the company could go global over the next few years. I can also confirm that there is no additional charge for using their platform.

The GoEuro card sounds like a potentially fantastic initiative and as the company grows you never. GoEuro already has links with Booking.com when planning your journey so who knows what the future may hold.

I’m not sure when that day is, but there are several destinations I just have to visit, the Nordic nations above anything else. GoEuro looks like something that will be my go-to when that day comes. Hi! you have a great website here! its a really good article and quite informative. I wanted to know that can anyone use GoEuro or is it restricted to particular country? Its really helpful though for people who travel a lot and they can surely have a great experience using it. Thank you for this great article.

    1. Richard Leaver says:

Thank you for your comments Abdul,

Anyone can use GoEuro however it is restricted to travel within Europe as it would be an expert on a certain area rather than having limited knowledge on a wider area. As the company continues to grow it may continue to cover a wider area.

  17. Dale says:

This is a loving information portal about traveling around Europe. Goeuro will surely help many people compare prices of planes trains and go for the most affordable one. While some can pay any amount to get comfortable while traveling. Goeuro site I think don’t have similar company competing with them because they so much have great numbers of people patronising them monthly which means people are really getting value for their time and money and information they get from their platform.

  19. Ed says:

Great site for booking travel by train, bus, or air in Europe. However, it seems like you have to pick from/to destinations with fixed dates. When traveling I like to be flexible, to a certain extent. Is it possible to book a Eurail pass through GoEuro?

It’s good that you can book hotels through Booking_dot_com on the same site. Saves time getting everything you need in one place.

Next trip to Europe I will definitely visit GoEuro for my tickets.

    1. Richard Leaver says:

Thank you for your comments Ed,

You can indeed buy a Eurail Pass through GoEuro. They offer 3 different types as listed below:

      – Global Pass (all 28 countries)

      – Select Pass (2-3 neighbouring countries)

      – One Country Pass (Where you explore 1 country)

They will also assist you in choosing the correct pass for yourself.
