    Great post and good info.

I love the fact there is a splash park, even as a grown up adult I still love them.

I went once to the UK and it is a very friendly country, they are not as stiff as people claim they are.

In fact, Belgians are more than them. Anyway, I actually never heard about this place, so I will take a look around, but what it has to offer is very nice, so maybe we will go to there for holidays!

  2. Heather says:

Hi. I was actually looking for a holiday destination for me and my husband. I wanted to choose some place inside the UK, somewhere we’ve never been before.

So Skegness sounds like something totally different from what I’ve visited.

I was curious – if we went there during the summer, is there any chance we can take a swim in the sea? I kind of believe it’s a colder climate all year long, so maybe we couldn’t. But I’d like to know.

We’re big fans of water in general. So I was really delighted to see that there’s some water parks in Skegness.

I know it’s more of a family destination – according to your description. But we’re just a couple, without any kids. Do you think it’s the right place overall? As I said, we’re the kind of water lovers, so I think we would love Skegness.

    1. Richard Leaver says:

Thank you for your comment Heather.

The summers in the UK can be quite warm and many do enjoy the sea on a balmy day (obviously at their own risk).

Butlins and Skegness is definitely more of a family destination overall however Butlins do run a number of family adult themed weekends where there is free entertainment throughout the weekend and it may be worth checking out the Butlins website to see what events are scheduled for the time of your visit.

      1. Heather says:

Thanks, I’ll check it out 🙂

  3. Tom says:

Now here is something that I would never have thought to do while traveling to the UK.  I think that this location would be a nice hub to stay at while taking “day trips” to different attractions in the area like Fantasy Island.  I have never been to an amusement park outside of the states.  One thing I was confused about however is, this statement: “Among the attractions on offer are several flumes”.  What is a flume?

    1. Richard Leaver says:

      Hi Tom,

The area is well worth a visit and the coast line in the North East of England is very underrated and quite stunning in places.

A flume is another term for a water slide of which there are plenty at Butlins.

  4. Wina says:

This looks fun! My family and I were planning to go to the UK next year summer to visit my aunt in London and thought of doing some family activities. This couldn’t come in handier! Since I have young nephews and nieces, I’m pretty sure this place would give them so much joy. And we love theme parties (Halloween is our favorite holiday) so I’m really looking forward to the theme weekends that they have.

I would like to ask whether it’s disabled friendly? Because my grandma is on a wheelchair, and just wanna make sure she gets to go around freely too!

& thanks for sharing this article! 🙂

    1. Richard Leaver says:

Thank you for your comments Wina.

Butlins caters for all disabled visitors and has specially adapted accommodation to suit everyone’s needs. Your nieces and nephews would have a fantastic time at Butlins.

  5. Denis says:

    Hi there,

While looking for places to visit during our upcoming vacation in England, I came upon your website and the description of the town of Skegness.  I will be honest here, I had never heard of the place, but you have got me very interested, and I spoke with the rest of my family and we will be adding a visit for a couple of days to our itinerary!

We plan on visiting a couple of place in England at then end of March of 2019 because of the mild weather and the spring season.  One question though, what about the beaches at Skegness, will they be too cold for bathing in March?

Thanks in advance for your response.

    1. Richard Leaver says:

      Thank you for comments Denis.

Skegness is an interesting place to visit and is what may be termed as a typical British Seaside town.

A stay at Butlins would certainly enhance your overall experience and as for bathing on the beach in March it is difficult to say as some years we have amazing weather in the UK in March whereas in other years it can be miserable.
